Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada. She is American. She has released more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk-rock and alternative rock but includes elements of punk, funk, hip hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco is frequently regarded as an icon of women's rights and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the first founder of DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to establish her own label in the year 90. DiFranco was born on 23rd September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as well as Dante Americo DiFranco. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father has Italian heritage. Ani diFranco composed and sang the song 32 Flavors. The song is featured on her sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. This song appears on the film soundtrack for the Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013, following the revelation that it emerged that she had set up a three-day workshop at the Louisiana plantation. A lot of people (including us) weren't impressed by her decision. DiFranco offered an apology only a few days later. Ani DiFranco achieved musical iconic status as a songwriter/singer and punk/folk at the age 25, both among the public and critics, when she released Not A Pretty Girl.
